Catch Up to Easter Weekend

I haven't blogged since November. Shame! Truthfully, I wish I hadn't let it go so long, because now it's difficult to get y'all caught up on everything. In my defense, I haven't done anything new and blog-worthy in quite awhile, but enough with the excuses. Here's a quick run-down of the past few months...

December was spent celebrating Bhrett and Herman's birthdays, plus the usual holiday gatherings. Mom bought me a real Coach bag for Christmas which was a fun surprise since I've never owned one. Thanks, Mom!

We rang in the New Year with Tyson and Joanna in Charleston. I had never been to Charleston before, but somehow never got around to blogging about it. We had a blast and I'd love to go back someday when it's not so brutally cold outside. We celebrated Jen Meador's 31st birthday at her and Greg's new house, and Joanna's 30th birthday at Dixie Tavern with the girls. Way too much fun! Jayne and Don flew into Atlanta to celebrate Mom and Pop-pop's birthdays with us at the end of the month. Loren and I were supposed to join Jill and her friends at the cabin the next day to celebrate Jill's birthday, but 6" of snow kept us home. Boo.

Tasia and I hosted Courtney's baby shower the first weekend in February. Oh, and Jen and Greg got engaged! I'm really looking forward to my role as Maid of Honor when they get married next year! I've never been MOH before, so watch out for "Bridezilla's driving me crazy" blog posts in the future...kidding, kidding. So far it's been a breeze...they've already picked the weekend, the venue and the dress, so they're well on their way! Bhrett and I also went to a few wedding/baby showers - looks like we're going through another round. We know at least 7 couples who are pregnant right now! February was capped off by a George Strait & Reba concert at Philips...not a bad way to spend a Thursday night. ;-)

Courtney and Steve's little girl, Adelaide Rose, was born on March 4. She's the cutest! Bhrett and I spent a long weekend in Key West a few weeks later. That was full of fun new experiences, too, (Spring Breakers, St. Patty's Day pub crawlers, public nudity, oh my!), and yet I never wrote about that either. (Okay, so I've been a slump these past few winter months, but I'm back, okay?!?) Anyway, March 18th was my 8-year anniversary at work. It's hard to believe so much time has gone by since I left Athens, but that's a different story. The following weekend was a big one...on Friday, I went to the Running of the Brides at Filene's with JDM and we found the perfect dress. On Saturday, I went to Alicia's baby shower AND TaTaPalooza 2010 which was a huge hit. On March 24, Bhrett and I celebrated our 3-year wedding anniversary. Again, where does the time go?

And now here we are in April already. I think we're all caught up now, right? Any questions from the audience? No? Okay, so now I'll tell you about this weekend as it comes to a close and we all have to go back to work in the morning. Meh. Not that my weekend was THAT exciting, but it sure beats reading an entire post about the fact that I'm almost 31 years old and I'm just now starting to floss on a regular basis. Save your comments. I know it's sad, but true.

I spent Good Friday with Erin and her girls. Meadow and Ivy are both growing like weeds and their little personalities really shine through. Meadow is full of energy and quite the character. She says "yep" to everything, likes to tell stories that begin with "once upon a time," and she has quite the imagination. She is fascinated with Bhrett, and even though he didn't join me on this visit, she asked about him on numerous occasions and even incorporated him into some of her tales. Ivy, on the other hand, is definitely more quiet, more reserved. According to Erin, she is 100% pure drama, but I didn't see any of that. I love hearing her little whisper and since she's usually pretty stand off-ish around me, I was thrilled when she crawled into my lap for the first time so that we could play together. When I got home on Friday night, I was so absolutely beat that I ended up watching some of my DVR-ed shows and going to bed.

Saturday was uneventful. Bhrett and I each did some shopping, and since every one had Easter plans early on Sunday morning, we ended up staying in again and going to bed pretty early. (What the heck is going on with us?!? lol)

And that brings us to today, Easter Sunday, and boy is it gorgeous outside. We actually made it out the door on time this morning and listened to bluegrass all the way to church. It was awesome.

After the service we went to Pastis in Roswell for lunch. Again, nothing new about any of these experiences, except that Lauren and Ryan weren't there this year. They're still out in Colorado, living the dream! (Well, except for the fact that Lauren fell while skiing last week and broke her wrist AND her knee. Boo. Please think good thoughts for her!)

Well, it's 6:30 p.m. now and I'm really enjoying my first back porch sittin' of the season. The sun is still shining, but I know it's time to start working on dinner. I'm thinking veggies on the grill...what are y'all having for dinner? Leftover Easter ham? Which reminds me...I did do something completely new recently - I ate a deviled egg! I have two words for you: Never. Again. Let's just leave it at that!

Hey, great blog!

Just a suggestion...You've mentioned basically every person on earth you know but me (granted, I've not been a part of any 'big' news like those folks), so next time, just try to slip a paragraph in there that consists solely of the word/name "Dave."

:)
